Hi Troop 61,

I am happy to announce that we will be having our first in-person meeting. We will be having a Troop Scavenger Hunt on November 7th at 2pm. RSVP here

You must RSVP with a Parent

  1. We will be meeting at 399 Marine Pkwy, Redwood City (Redwood Shores Library Parking Lot), all the scouts and their parents will stay in their cars once they arrive.
  2. Once you RSVP, I will make groups of 3 and let you know which group you are in.
  3. The groups (consisted of 3 scouts and their families) will leave 5 minutes apart so groups will be socially distanced during the activity.
  4. The event should take no longer than an hour and a half to two hours
  5. If you are in a later group, you don’t need to be there at 2 but make sure to be on time. If you are late your group will leave without you and you will go after the last group.

Safety Measures:

  1. All Participants must have a mask, and they must be worn for the whole time during the event.
  2. Maintain 6 feet from other families in your group.

How this activity is going to work is there will be 9 locations that can be found inside the boundaries. Scouts and the families will go around looking for those locations. You can work with your groups if you have a social bubble with them, but it’s just best to work with your family. Once they have found a location they will take a picture at the specific location, just like the example pictures given to you once you arrive. Patrols will gain points by the number of members that participate in the event as well as the top 5 scouts with the shortest time will gain more points for their designated patrol. This is a great opportunity to gain more points for the Patrol Cup.

IMPORTANT: We need to have a parent stationed at each location. Please ask your parents if they are willing to sit at the location, but make sure that you still are doing the event with your other parent. Parents who volunteer must be at the library at 1:50, where I will assign them to their locations. Parents might not have to be at their locations for the full 2 hours depending on the number of parents that volunteer. However, if we have less than 9 parents that volunteer, we will have to reduce the number of locations.
